The load output will disconnect the load when the battery has been discharged to a pre-set voltage. Some loads (especially inverters) can best be connected directly to the battery, and the inverter remote control connected to the load output. A special interface cable may be needed, please see the manual. The connect and disconnect voltages are adjustable. Mutch better then the cheap charge controllers. Works nicely with lifepo4 batteries. Nice to have for small solar setups like camping!

If you wanna go cheap then yes.
The solar pmw charger is good and a bonus that it has a display and us great for saving a buck but I would highly recommend the Victron SmartSolar mppt charge controller because you can regulate charge current and voltage on your phone via bluetooth
